1. Who We Are

Found It Safe LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the U2ME™ service at getu2me.com. U2ME™ is a lost-item recovery service that uses QR codes to connect finders of lost items with their owners.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

Information you provide directly:

  • Name, email address, and phone number when you place an order
  • Shipping address for physical label orders
  • Up to two emergency contact names and phone numbers (for notification purposes)
  • A custom label name and optional reward amount you set for your item
  • Support ticket submissions (name, email, issue description)
  • Corporate inquiry form submissions (company name, industry, contact details)

Information collected automatically:

  • QR code scan events (timestamp, approximate GPS location of the scanner, device type)
  • IP address and browser/device information for security and analytics
  • Google Analytics data (page views, session duration, referral source)

Payment information: We use Stripe to process payments. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full card details on our servers. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Order fulfillment: To print and ship your U2ME™ labels, generate your unique QR codes, and activate your protection.
  • Recovery notifications: When your QR code is scanned, we use your contact information to send you SMS, email, and voice call notifications.
  • Customer support: To respond to your questions, support tickets, and refund requests.
  • Service improvement: Aggregated, anonymized analytics help us improve the product and website.
  • Legal compliance: To comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests from authorities.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising targeting on third-party platforms.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only with the service providers necessary to operate U2ME™:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Telnyx / Twilio — SMS and voice call delivery
  • SendGrid — email delivery
  • Google Firebase / Firestore — database and hosting
  • Google Analytics — website analytics
  • Maverick Label (local print shop) — physical label printing and fulfillment

Each of these providers processes your data only as necessary to perform their service and is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

5. Finder Data & Privacy

When someone scans a U2ME™ QR code, we collect their approximate GPS location and the timestamp of the scan. This information is shared with the item's registered owner as part of the recovery notification.

The finder's identity is not collected. We do not require finders to create an account, provide their name, or share any personal information beyond what their device's location services provide.

Importantly, the owner's personal contact information (phone number, email, address) is never shown to the finder. The notification system acts as an intermediary — the owner is notified, but the finder cannot contact the owner directly through the system.

6. SMS & Text Messaging

By providing your phone number during checkout and completing your order, you consent to receive transactional SMS messages from U2ME™. These messages include:

  • Order confirmation and shipping updates
  • Item recovery alerts when your QR code is scanned
  • Support-related messages if you contact us via text

You can opt out of SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier.

We do not send marketing or promotional SMS messages without your explicit consent.

7. Cookies & Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymized data about page visits, session duration, and referral sources. This data does not identify you personally.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not use advertising cookies or sell cookie data to third parties.

8. Data Retention

We retain your order and contact information for as long as your U2ME™ codes are active, plus a reasonable period afterward for support and legal purposes (typically 3 years). QR code scan logs are retained for 2 years.

Support ticket data is retained for 2 years. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Your Rights below).

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Opt out of SMS notifications at any time (reply STOP)
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@getu2me.com. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are a resident of California, Virginia, or another state with specific consumer privacy laws, additional rights may apply. Contact us for details.

10. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, Firebase security rules, and Stripe's PCI-compliant payment processing. We do not store payment card data on our servers.

While we take reasonable precautions, no internet transmission is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@getu2me.com.

11. Children's Privacy

U2ME™ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered customers.

Your continued use of U2ME™ after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
