Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 31, 2026
Found It Safe LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the U2ME™ Codes service and is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Contact Information: Name, email address, phone number, and mailing address
- Emergency Contact Information: Names, phone numbers, and email addresses of contacts you designate
- Payment Information: Payment details processed securely through Stripe
- Item Information: Details about items you choose to protect with U2ME™ Codes
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Process transactions and send related information
- Display your chosen contact information to finders when your U2ME™ Code is scanned
- Enable finders to contact you or your designated emergency contacts
- Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests
- Send you technical notices and support messages
How Finders Contact You
When someone finds your lost item and scans your U2ME™ Code, they are directed to a secure page where they can contact you directly. We do not automatically send you notifications when your code is scanned. Instead, finders initiate contact through:
- Text message to your registered phone number
- Email to your registered email address
Your personal information is protected—finders only see the contact options you've chosen to display, not your actual phone number or email address until they choose to reach out.
SMS/Text Messaging
By providing your phone number during the U2ME code purchase process, you consent to receive transactional SMS/text messages related to your item recovery notifications. These messages are sent only when someone scans your U2ME QR code, indicating your item may have been found.
- Message types: Item recovery alerts, scan notifications, and return coordination messages
- Message frequency: Message frequency varies. You will only receive messages when your QR code is scanned (typically 0-2 messages per year)
- Opt-out: You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent
- Help: Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact [email protected]
- Message and data rates: Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan
- Carriers: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages
- Privacy: We will not share your opt-in to SMS with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with U2ME item recovery services. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes
For questions about our SMS program, contact [email protected].
Information Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- With Finders: When someone scans your U2ME™ Code, they see limited contact options you've chosen to display
- Service Providers: We use trusted third parties like Stripe (payments) and Firebase (hosting) to operate our services
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase with encryption at rest and in transit.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Update your contact preferences at any time
